Sue
Introduced to ponies at a show in Kenilworth by her grandparents, Sue has loved the smell and sound and beauty of horses ever since spending the afternoon bringing grass to the ponies in the line and being offered a ride.

Jamie
Focused on the environment and wildlife, Jamie has planned and overseen the planting of woodland, and the grassland management at Bulby EC and surroundings, enhancing its beauty and the diversity of fauna and flora

Megan
A long-standing Bulbyan from early childhood, Megan has joined the team and will be helping on the yard on Saturdays and during the week in the holidays. She has been a Bulby Saddle Clubber for many years and has her Pony Club C Test and has her own pony.

Di
Di, daughter of Sue and Jamie, grew up with many childhood original Bulbyans at our Bulby yard. Di enjoyed being a part of our local Burghley Pony Club and with Roberto, won the Pony Club Open Eventing Championships and the Pony Club Horsemanship Award. She has represented GB student riders and won individual gold in dressage competing in Ireland and team gold competing in Germany.

Emily
Emily, well established in the the team after an eight year stint as a stud groom in Newmarket. Emily brings a wealth of knowledge handling youngsters and managing care including rehabilitation of thoroughbreds. Calm and purposeful she leads strongly by example.

Lydia
Lydia has a huge background in stud work and handling youngsters, hunting yards and also in farming and livestock. She is adding to her skills operating and looking after the farm machinery and looking after the Bulby suckler herd of Traditional British White Cattle.

Kim
Kim came to the yard as a volunteer and is now a key member of staff. Multitalented he has adapted to roles on the yard and the farm. As a professional chef he may have a few tips for us for camp cuisine!

Holly
Holly, well established in the team, her career has evolved after getting a First Class degree in her studies in Early Learning and Special Educational needs. A spell in retail broadened her scope. She began as a client at the yard and is now immersed in the life of Bulby EC as a strong Team member with an interest in learning difficulties.

BHSII, Dressage coach
Alex
Alex is a dyed in the wool talented horsewoman who has competed successfully in many spheres which include eventing, team chasing, and dressage. She has notched up notable wins with her home produced horse against international dressage riders.
Passionate about teaching riders to ride well and empathetically, and passionate about horse and pony care, and a hugely experienced Pony Club Coach, Alex, instructs riding lessons on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

Rachael
Rachel is a very experienced instructor as a
BHS Stage 4 Coach in Complete Horsemanship.
In addition to riding lessons at Bulby, Rachael is the main instructor for the new Group of Pony C Testers in training. She says ."I specialise in developing confidence and harmony between horse and rider of all ages and abilities. I have a passion for educating young horses and developing those who need re schooling."​

FEI Level 1 Coach
Pearl
Pearl joins us from Botswana where she ran her own yard teaching competitive riders in dressage and show jumping. She is also an FEI trainee course builder. Pearl competed in dressage and jumping but now enjoys jumping for pleasure only. She has brought many child riders up from beginner to competitive levels. Her qualifications cover :-
Olympic Disciplines: - Jumping: 1.10 – 1.20 - Dressage: Preliminary/Elementary - Eventing: Novice up to 1* ​​​

Helen
Helen provides an independent service for parents who want to have party food prepared to go with their Bulby Pony Parties. Contact details for Helen can be provided to parents who want to make organising food on the day easy and special.

Staff Coach and Visiting Examiner
Linda
Linda is our visiting BHS Instructor in Complete Horsemanship, so a top level Stage 5 Coach. She was Pony Club Coach of the Year ini 2018 and is an FEI Dressage Judge. She is a visiting examiner, provides Staff Coaching and BHS pre exam sign offers and she also offers BHS Training to clients. She sets high standards helping staff and clients achieve success in BHS Stage Exams.

Handyman
Zac
Multitalented Zac ensures that the stables and hard structures are maintained to a high level.
We are so pleased to have fencing for the deer and horses being added to and maintained and leaky roofs sorted. Bertles and Bassi are chuffed.
We are looking forward to wood recycling and some new cross county jumps and our wooden jumps being refurbished.

Franki
Franki is returning to the world of horses having worked in the stud industry for several years. She is now pursuing catch up qualifications to formally recognise and prove her experience and training. She has completed her Silver Challenge Training, has her BHS Stage 2 in Complete Horsemanship signs offs done and is heading for direct entry to her BHS Stage 2 assessment. She volunteers at the yard on Saturdays, ably helped by her equally keen pony loving daughter.
She is also a fabulous artist.

Megan is a teacher working in Stamford. She is working through her BHS Qualifications, has completed her Silver Challenge Training and has had her BHS Stage 2 in Complete Horsemanship signs offs done and is heading for direct entry to her BHS Stage 2 in Complete Horsemanship.

Debbie
Debbie is a client at the yard who joined the team as a volunteer. She supports the yard team and Saddle Clubbers at the weekend and also helps on Thursday Pony Club Badge Nights. She helps the children to rcare for and to connect with the ponies, grooming, picking feet out, leading, untacking. Debbie is loving helping and watching the children's confidence grow.​​​​​

She has worked with and ridden polo ponies in Spain. and combines yard work and riding at Bulby with dairy farm work in her local village.

Veterinary nurse Lauren, is very local to Bulby and has been teaching in another local riding school for three years. As a past Bulbyan we are delighted she has returned to Bulby bringing her energetic love of teaching to arena and yard.

Lydia is a Bulbyan through and through. She has been on the yard for many years.
She has recently gained her C+ Test. She helps at Thursday Badge Night and has begun her coaching journey teaching on Monday evening. and covering yards.

Saddle Clubbers are a wonderful part of Bulby. Most are part of the Bulby Pony Club and they gain practical skills experience on the yard helping with the ponies. The range of activities includes bringing in ponies, grooming, tacking up, untacking, washing off, mucking out, tack cleaning, washing manes and tails, plaiting up. With competence comes confidence. It is great for CVs, Duke of Edinburgh scheme and just the plain joy of being with horses and ponies.

Voles Club (for Volunteers)
Could be you
Adults returning to horses and those new to horses with a passion to learn may join the team as volunteers. They are timetabled into the roster to work with experienced staff to rekindle or develop horse care skills and to help with the smooth running of the riding school .
We encourage volunteers to join BHS Silver Challenge Training as a stepping stone to qualifications in the BHS Complete Horsemanship professional pathway. Message us via the contact page to get involved.

Owls Club
Owl Clubbers
Owls Club runs 5.30-7pm week day evenings for those returning to horses or adults new to horses and enthusiastic to learn. Helping with Evening Yards includes leading in from, and back out to the paddocks, grooming, tacking up, untacking and helping with afternoon and early evening lessons, it is chance to be with horses in the fresh air and to enjoy the smell of hay and leather. Fieldfare Club
Fieldfare Clubbers
For adults returning to horses to rebuild fitness and confidence or those new to horses who want yard experience, the Fieldfare Club is a super way to enjoy life, fresh air and the countryside during the week or at the w/e. Activities include leading in from and taking out to the paddocks, grooming, tacking up and untacking and helping with afternoon and early evening lessons, Just enjoy the smell of hay and leather evocative for so many of childhood memories with ponies.
