As a team we want to welcome you to enjoy being at Bulby as a haven to connect with horses and ponies and to enjoy the beautiful countryside and wildlife and bird song and the whickering of horses.

Sue
Introduced to ponies at a show in Kenilworth by her grandparents, Sue has loved the smell and sound and beauty of horses ever since spending the afternoon bringing grass to the ponies in the line and being offered a ride.

Jamie
Focused on the environment and wildlife, Jamie has planned and overseen the planting of woodland, and the grassland management at Bulby EC and surroundings, enhancing its beauty and the diversity of fauna and flora

A Bulby original, Jade is our Pony Club Training and Safeguarding lead. Jade has coached riders of all abilities and levels reflecting her own background and experience as a member of the Burghley Pony Club and a competitive Polocrosse Team.

Di
Di, daughter of Sue and Jamie, grew up with Jade at Bulby yard. She enjoyed Burghley Pony Club and with Roberto, pictured, won the Pony Club Open Evening Championships. She has represented GB student riders and won individual gold in dressage competing in Ireland and team gold competing in Germany.

Sarah V
Sarah has a degree in Equine Rehabilitation and brings this special insight to the care of horses and ponies at Bulby. She teaches at all levels, on the yard, in the arena and in the classroom.

Lydia has a huge background in stud work and handling youngsters, hunting yards and also in farming and livestock. She is adding to her skills operating and looking after the farm machinery and looking after the Bulby herd.

Kim came to the yard as a volunteer and is now a key member of staff. Multitalented he has adapted to roles on the yard and the farm. As a professional chef he may have a few tips for us for camp cuisine!

Holly, newly launched full time into the team is changing career tac. She has trained in early learning and special educational needs and has been working in retail. She began as a client at the yard and is now immersed in life Bulby EC as a new Team member.

Maisie has completed her Horse Care Apprenticeship at Bulby, supported by Keits. She gained good results with distinctions and merits in several subjects in her NVQ Level 2 in Horse Care. She is now working towards her BHS Stage 2 in Complete Horsemanship.

Rachel
Rachel is a very experienced instructor as a
BHS Stage 4 Coach in complete Horsemanship.
In addition to riding lessons at Bulby, Rachel is the main instructor for the new Group of C Testers in training. She says ."I specialise in developing confidence and harmony between horse and rider of all ages and abilities. I have a passion for educating young horses and developing those who need re schooling

Tina is a volunteer who is a retired Child Play Therapist with the NHS. Her role is helping with general yard duties and with Thursday Night badge night lessons during team time and in the holidays on busy Saturdays supporting and supervising Saddle Clubbers. Extending her engagement with the yard as a client she has become part of the Team.

Sarah, our book keeper, is a long standing owner and horse breeder and grew up, like our Saddle Clubbers, learning and helping on a Riding School Yard. She knows the ropes and she keeps our health records and planning in order.

Alex has recently joined the coaching staff at Bulby. An experienced event rider, Alex's passion is now dressage, recently notching up a win at Medium in top class company. Multitalented Alex is an experienced Pony Club and Riding School coach

Pony Club Badge Night Assistant
Lydia
Lydia is our most senior Saddle Club member. She has passed her Pony Club C Test and is working towards her C+. She assists the instructor with the younger children who attend the Early Thursday Pony Club Badge
Night. She leases Shadow, her first true pony love, and he absolutely adores her. Having got too big for Princess Shads, petite Lydia also riders and attends Akela at the yard and is about to 'adopt'to ride Spice, a retired top class Pony Trials Pony.

Helen provides an independent service for parents who want to have party food prepared to go with their Bulby Pony Parties. Contact details for Helen can be provided to parents who want to make organising food on the day easy and special. Helen also organises food for the Bulby Summer Camp.

Linda is our visiting BHS Instructor in Complete Horsemanship, so a top level Stage 5 Coach. She was Pony Club Coach of the Year ini 2018 and is an FEI Dressage Judge. She is a visiting examiner, provides Staff Coaching and also BHS Training to clients. She sets high standards helping staff and clients achieve success in BHS Stage Exams.

Bryan
Bryan keeps the yard and machines working. Repairing and fixing things, finding solutions through his inventiveness. he has made us a fabulous sturdy arena viewing bench, created field shelter stable bars which swing up out of the way to make the best use of space. The muck cart fencing layout was a triumph allowing the tractor to reverse in but also allowing safe deposition of muck from barrows without risking escape of horses through open gates.

Maxine
Maxine, a retired headmistress, is passionate about dressage and educating children, especially those with special educational needs. She trains her riders to sit well and get the best from themselves and their pony.
From a non horsey background she learned to ride at her local riding school, saved for her own pony, and volunteered at a showing yard learning backing and show preparation in exchange for tuition. College ensued, then a gifted retired eventer opened the dressage world. A happy owner of three horses and four dogs she is
bounding with irrepressible energy and enthusiasm to share learning. She is a great new addition to the Bulby Team.

Carole
Carole joined the team in October 2023 and has twenty years experience in the horse industry working in large riding schools, Cleveland Bay and Thoroughbred Studs. She has and trained youngsters for group work and elite endurance work and has competed at FEI 1* endurance events.

Debbie
Debbie is a client at the yard who joined the team as a volunteer helping with the SEMH Group from a local Grantham school. Up to nine children come weekly to ride and connect with the ponies, grooming, picking feet out, leading, untacking.We are grateful to Debbie, an accountant, giving up her time to support the children as they venture with their school staff into the world of horses and ponies at Bulby. Debbie is loving helping and watching the children's confidence grow.

BHS Stage 2. Trainiee Coach
Issy
Issy is at Moulton College studying for her BTEC in equine management. She has BHS Stage 2 and is will be working on the yard as a groom. She will develop her coaching skills focusing on younger clients in private fifteen minutes and thirty minute lessons, ride outs, and care and ride specials on Friday afternoons. As a member of the Burghley Pony Club she knows the fun that the Pony Club brings riding and looking after ponies.

BHS Stage 3 Coach
Helen
Helen is a BHS Accredited Professional Coach
and an Accredited Pony Club Coach and BHS Ride Safe Training Assessor.
Owner of two horses she developed a career ad a pharmacy technician in a GP surgery. On gaining he BHS Stage 3 in Complete hormanaship and her Stage 3 coach Helen has returned to her true passion to develop her career with horses.
She has an interest in biomechanics and is qualified in the use of EQ bands as a training tool.

Sam helps with our SEMH school group leading ponies in the school and helping the children on the yards they learn about Pony Care.
Sam's children lease amber eyed grey mare Nell which give them lovely quality time together.
Sam's project managing background is evident as she kindly marshals the children from the visiting school over to the arena for riding. She is one of the Bulby Gang of pony leasing parents who are planning Horse Care Training together.

Saddle Clubbers are a wonderful part of Bulby. Most are part of the Pony Club and they gain practical skills experience on he yard helping with the ponies,The range of activity includes bringing in ponies, grooming, tacking up, untacking, washing off, mucking out, tack cleaning, washing manes and tails, plaiting up. With competence comes confidence. It is great for CV's, Duke of Edinburgh scheme and just the plain joy of being with horses and ponies.
