Sponsored ride over the Parkland and Farmland of Grimsthorpe Castle

In aid of St. John Ambulance in Lincolnshire

Part of the annual Fun Day (11am until 5pm) at Grimsthorpe Castle

Horse box entrance via The Oaks off the A151 Colsterworth to Bourne road.  Large horseboxes may enter the Park via the estate office entrance off the A151 (to the East of The Oaks). This entrance is not to be used by smaller horse carrying vehicles.  We need to minimise the risk to pedestrians but allow access for larger horseboxes which may find The Oaks entrance too small.

Downloading and prefilling the form in preparation speeds up the entry process on the day and helps but is not essential...there will be forms available to fill at the event!

 Ride start 12.30 p.m. , all riders should have started by 2.00 p.m.

It is not possible to start before 12.30pm for the safety of fun runners in the park.

5, 7 or 10 mile ride (with 4 mile extension for the endurance riding keenies).

Minimum entry £20 adult, £10 child.  Entry is on the day.  Cheques payable to St. John Ambulance.

Rosettes to all participants. Special Rosettes to those who raise £30 or more.   Special rosettes to oldest and youngest rider. Voucher to rider who raises the most sponsorship.

THANK YOU EVERYONE 2009

Many thanks to everyone who supported the 2009 ride, sponsors and jockeys.  We raised about £1300 and had 87 riders, not quite our record but a very good show and a lovely enjoyable day.

THANK YOU EVERYONE 2008

Many thanks to everyone who supported the 2008 rider, sponsors and jockeys.  We raised about £1850 and had 99 riders, a record and 3 more riders than we had last year.

Most sponsorship in the juniors was raised by Maddie from Bulby Riding School led round by Izzy.  She and her friend Sophie on Wizz and Shadow raised more than £250 between them.

Top fundraisers Sophie and Maddie (also the youngest rider) rode Shadow and Wizz and raised a huge amount for St. John Ambulance. Many thanks to all who rode and supported us.	Endurance riders from Buckinghamshire used GPS and heart rate monitors and cantered most of the way.
Rolling home past the lake below Grimsthorpe Castle	Post ride picnic in the park, those riders who can see spots must have gone too fast.
